Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Finance

Job Locations: Bonn Germany

The Institute for Finance and Statistics at the University of Bonn is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Finance (E13 TV-L, 100%, 3 years).

The postdoctoral research fellow will join the Finance Group at the Institute for Finance and Statistics, housed within the University of Bonn’s Department of Economics. The position is initially offered for a three-year period with the possibility of renewal for another three years. The position is full-time. The expected start date is October, 2025.

Candidates should have, or expect to complete a Ph.D. in economics or finance and must document a strong research potential. The successful candidate will have an ambitious research agenda in financial economics and an active interest in contributing to the research environment in the Finance Group. An interest in tackling modern societal challenges (e.g., green finance, digital finance, fintech, AI/big data) would be particularly welcome.

Generous funds for research visits, conference travel, etc. will be available. Teaching obligations are one course per semester in the field of finance.

The Department of Economics provides a stimulating research environment with excellent research funding and data access. The Finance group’s research interests cover various fields in financial economics, from macro-finance, banking and financial intermediation, corporate finance, green finance, to household and behavioral finance. The group is strongly connected and collaborates with the applied micro group, the macro group, and ECONtribute.
