We are pleased to announce the Call for Papers for the 8th Conference on Nontraditional Data, Machine Learning, and Natural Language Processing in Macroeconomics (ECONDAT 2026 Fall Meeting), taking place on October 5–6, 2026, in Tokyo, Japan.

Hosted by the Bank of Japan and co-organized with leading institutions including the Banca d’Italia, Federal Reserve Board, Sveriges Riksbank, Bank of Canada, and the Central Bank Research Association, the conference is part of the broader ECONDAT Program.

The meeting aims to bring together researchers and practitioners working at the intersection of macroeconomics, financial economics, and data science. Topics of interest include artificial intelligence in economic analysis, machine learning and NLP for forecasting, the use of large and granular datasets, and innovative approaches to measuring economic activity and inflation.

Submission deadline: June 7, 2026
Conference dates: October 5–6, 2026
Location: Tokyo, Japan (in person)

Authors are invited to submit full papers (preferred) via the official submission portal. Extended abstracts will be considered in exceptional cases. Accepted authors will be notified by August 3, 2026.
