Researchers and practitioners working with administrative data, social indicators, and related methodological questions are invited to submit abstracts for the session “Administrative Data and Social Research: Coverage, Comparability, and the Limits of Measurement” at the XXI ISA World Congress of Sociology, taking place 4–10 July 2027 in Gwangju, Republic of Korea.
The session will contribute to the wider debate about how administrative data can be used across the social sciences—and, importantly, what conclusions these data can and cannot support.
Contributions are welcomed from a broad range of fields, including labor markets, social assistance, healthcare, education, and taxation. We also encourage work that combines administrative records with surveys, qualitative research, or other data sources.
