The Bank of Albania is pleased to announce the 19th South-Eastern European Economic Research Workshop, which will take place on 6–7 November 2025 in Tirana.

This annual event provides a platform for central bankers, academics, policymakers, and market practitioners from South-Eastern Europe and beyond to share their latest research in economics and finance. The workshop promotes regional cooperation, encourages multidisciplinary approaches, and supports dialogue on current economic challenges relevant to central banking.

Suggested Topics

The Bank of Albania welcomes both theoretical and empirical contributions on topics including, but not limited to:

  • Macroeconomic Policy and Global Uncertainty: Navigating risks in a geo-economically fragmented world
  • Inflation Dynamics and Policy Coordination: Exploring structural determinants
  • Macro-financial Vulnerabilities: The role and effectiveness of monetary and macroprudential policies
  • Central Banking in a Changing World: Addressing geopolitical tensions, technological shifts, and environmental pressures
  • Labor Markets, Demographics & AI: Implications for macroeconomic policy

Keynote Speakers

The 2025 workshop will feature keynote lectures by renowned economists:
