We are delighted to announce the Call for Papers for the upcoming ECONDAT Spring 2025 Conference, which will focus on “Economics with Nontraditional Data and Analytical Tools.” The event, jointly organized by King’s College London, the European Central Bank (ECB), the Central Bank Research Association (CEBRA), and the Bank of England (BOE), will take place on June 5–6, 2025.

This two-day conference aims to bring together leading researchers and practitioners from diverse disciplines to explore and discuss innovative methodologies in economic research. 

About the ECONDAT Program

The ECONDAT Program represents a collaborative effort by central banks and international organizations to foster a dynamic research community at the intersection of economics, data science, statistics, and technology. Through regular conferences and workshops, ECONDAT provides a platform for cutting-edge research and dialogue that bridges academia, policy institutions, and statistical agencies.

Topics of Interest

We invite submissions of empirical and theoretical work related to innovative applications of nontraditional data and analytical tools. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Machine learning in economic analysis: Exploring how advanced algorithms can provide new insights into economic trends and behaviors.
  • Generative AI and natural language processing: Applications in macroeconomics, financial stability, prudential regulation, and central bank communications.
  • Implementation strategies for emerging tools: Approaches for deploying new technologies by supervisors and policymakers.
  • Leveraging large, granular datasets: Utilizing structured and unstructured data to predict or understand the state of the economy.
